English Narrowboat Time Lapse Video

Those outside of England might find themselves at a bit of a loss if the topic of narrowboats is brought up. However with the recent parade of boats in honor of Queen Elizabeth II’s Jubilee celebrations having been broadcast around the world, the term might now be somewhat more familiar to many.

Narrowboats are a type of watercraft developed specifically to navigate and carry goods, and more recently people, along the narrow canals of Great Britain. Developed in the 18th century primarily for commerce, they are now often used for recreational travel and even as floating homes.

The owner of the narrowboat, The Ratcher, recently contacted us to share a collection of his Wingscapes Timelaspe Cam 8.0 time lapse videos of the boat’s travels through the Warwickshire Ring canals of central England.

Quite honestly, we were fascinated. We’d never before seen anything like these recordings - capturing not only the passing English countryside but also the transit through the various locks of the canals as well. We’re looking forward to more time lapse videos being posted in the future.
