FAQ

  • Batteries: We recommend Energizer Batteries or Wingscapes Batteries.

Tip: If the batteries are lower than 30% it is possible the camera will not function correctly. Try a new set of batteries just in case this might be related to the issue you are experiencing.

  • SD Card: We recommend using up to class 10, and up to a 32GB SD Card. Do not use MICRO cards or HIGH-PERFORMANCE cards.

Tip: Formatting your SD Card to your Bird Camera is very important.

To format your SD Card (erase images), go to delete photos in your camera and select yes. If you receive an error, try 2 more times. If you are still having trouble, change the SD card and format the new one in the camera prior to setting it up.

Tip:Make sure the LOCK switch on the SD card is in the UP position

  • Focus Issues: If your Wingscapes Camera is taking blurry images with your selected Focus, try re-measuring how far you have your Bird camera from the Bird Feeder. Your camera comes with a measuring tape for this purpose.

  • Excessive Images: We recommend clearing all Vegetation From the Front of the Camera

Tip: Remove grass, small limbs and twigs away from the camera’s view to avoid getting unwanted pictures of moving vegetation.

  • Black Night Images: Should you start seeing black night photos, or pink daytime photos, it’s time for an infrared (IR) filter reset.

How to Perform an IR Filter Reset

    • Make sure your Wingscapes recommended batteries and SD card are inserted into your camera.
    • Ensure your camera is set up with your desired settings.
    • Ensure your camera is in the ON position and ready to take photos.
    • Take your camera into a completely dark room.
    • Walk or wave in front of the camera so it takes a picture.
    • Turn on the lights and trigger your camera to take another picture.
    • Repeat this process 6 to 8 times in a row.
    • Your IR filter is now reset, and better photos should be on the way.

  • No Power: If your Wingscapes Camera will not power on, or the display is unreadable, please follow the instructions below to correct it:

    • Remove the batteries and the SD card from the camera.
    • With the batteries and SD card removed, turn the camera on for one minute (either use On, Quick Start, or Custom Start modes).
    • After one minute is up, turn the camera back off, and insert the batteries and the SD card. Turn the camera on.
  • Not Taking Pictures:

Tip: One of the options below should resolve the issue you are experiencing with your camera not taking pictures

    • Batteries: Try a new set of batteries. Your batteries could be low, or you could have one bad battery
    • SD Card: Make sure you have a recommended SD card and that the switch on the SD card is in the UP Position. Try formatting your SD card in your Wingscapes camera.
    • Switch: Make sure the camera switch is in the "ON" Position. The camera cannot take images in "SETUP".
  • Image Quality:

Tip: There are many variables that can happen when it comes to image quality.

    • Gray or Distorted Images: This could be a bad/ correct SD card. Try a new recommended SD card. This could also be result of low batteries, try a new set of recommended batteries.
    • Fog/Dew: This is something out of our control, but there are products on the market that can cause water to bead up and run off surfaces.
    • Blurry Images: This can be caused by having the camera on a specific focus, but not having the camera at the right distance. Try-measuring how far you have your Bird camera from the Bird Feeder. Your camera comes with a measuring tape for this purpose.
    • Black Night/Low Light Images: This could also be result of low batteries, try a new set of recommended batteries.
